London Marathon 2014
Charlotte Allen took on the London Marathon for CMV Action in April 2014. She raised a fantastic £1,105 for CMV Action and we say a huge thank you and well done from us.
A personal message from Charlotte.
All major charities were well supported, therefore I opted to support a smaller less recognised charity called CMV.
It affects 1 in 150 new born babies and round 1 in 1000 babies born in the UK every year will have permanent disabilities as a result of CMV Some of these children will go on to develop other problems such as physical and motor impairment, seizures, ADHD, Autism, developmental differences and learning delays or visual impairment. At the moment there simply isn’t enough public awareness of CMV, and so most people have never heard of it. One of the aims of CMV Action is to raise awareness and help those diagnosed and their families.
I have completed a number of races and have never asked for sponsorship money, however this is the first time I attempted a marathon. It has taken a lot of hard work and dedication to train for, therefore please visit my Virgin Money giving page and help me to raise as much money as possible for this well-deserved charity.
